Miles Sanders proving to be the real deal

Miles Sanders was drafted in the second round by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2019 draft after a year in which they watched their running back depth get decimated by injuries. Sanders came out of college having spent his first two seasons as primarily a kick returner due to Saquan Barkley being ahead of him on the depth chart. However after coming to Philly he quickly shed his duties as a kick returner after just 14 returns. He has gone on to become the bell cow runner for the Eagles with 170 carries for 766 yards a 4.5 per carry average and 3 tds, adding another 47 receptions for 510 yards and 3 tds adding 14 kick returns for 314 yards. With one more game to go Sanders has totalled 1,590 all purpose yards, and 6 tds on just 212 touches. Pretty impressive for a guy who spent two years as a backup relegated strictly to special teams. I only hope he can continue on this path. Teaming him with a bruiser like Howard was a smart move and keeping a guy like Corey Clement who is a similar style back to Sanders would provide solid depth for the Eagles in 2020.
