Nick Mullens future starter?

Nick Mullens is in his 3rd year with the San Francisco 49ers all 3 of which he has spent as the backup to Jimmy Garrapollo. Only 1 of those seasons did Jimmy G make it through the entire 16 games without missing a start. This has worked to the benefit of Nick Mullens who is a solid quarterback.

Through three years Mullens had thrown 285 passes completing 184 putting his career completion rate at 64.5% prior to starting this weekend's game. He has put up 2,348 passing yards or 7.4 yards per attempt, 13 tds to 11 ints. He needs to improve on his turnover rate but other than that he has demonstrated the ability to lead an offense, he can make all the throws on the field, and has the leadership ability to be a starting quarterback in this league. While Mullens is a bit on the shorter side 6'1 210 lbs is hardly small in today's NFL where players like Kyler Murray, Russell Wilson, and Drew Brees have proven size does not dictate success. Mullens after today's win sits at a 4-5 career win loss record but I personally think given an entire season he would prove to be a winning qb.
